Woorim Patrolled Surf Beach

The ocean township beach. Swim between the flags when a patrol is operating; check SLSQ on the day.

Independent planning guide — check QPWS, council and Translink for live conditions.

Bribie Island coastal landscape used as a planning image for activities

This is the rare heritage activity slug that points at a landscape you can still stand on. Woorim is Bribie’s ocean township beach. The old site called it a patrolled surf beach. That remains the right idea — when a patrol is actually running.

Flags move. Hours change. Check Surf Life Saving Queensland and the local club information on the day you swim. If there are no flags, you do not have a patrolled swim.

North of the township, Ocean Beach in the national park is a different coast: not patrolled, dangerous rips, recreation-area rules for drivers. Do not slide from one to the other in your head.

The long swimming argument is on beaches. The permit argument is on 4WD beach. This page exists so the old activity URL tells the same story.

Move from this page into the next decision: how you arrive, where you swim, or whether a recreation-area permit applies.
