The previous Tourism Bribie site ran an activities directory: boat hire, bowls, golf, a cinema, a spa, gliding, skydiving, cruises, bike hire, parks, galleries, an aquatic centre, and Woorim’s patrolled beach. Those clean URLs still matter to search engines and to old links. They do not matter as a brochure.
This hub is the index. Each child page is rewritten. Commercial names are historical listings, details unverified. Public landscapes and institutions are described at a planning level and still need a current check.
How to use this directory
If you arrived from a 2017 link, read the short page, then jump to the modern hub it belongs to. Boat hire and cruises belong with things to do and fishing. Woorim’s beach belongs with beaches. Anything that sounds like a tour into the park belongs with 4WD beach only after you have read the permit rules.
If you are starting fresh, you do not need this directory at all. Use the IA in the header.
What was on the island, as a pattern
The list is a social map. Bowls and golf sit in the townships. An aquatic leisure centre and a twin cinema speak to a residential island, not a fly-in resort. Community arts and a seaside museum speak to a place that interprets itself. Boat hire and passage cruises speak to Pumicestone Passage as the everyday water. Skydiving and gliding, if they existed as advertised then, were never the same thing as a Woorim swim.
Moreton Bay Regional Council appears as a listing because the old site treated local government as a visitor contact. The council is now Moreton Bay City Council. Use the current corporate site.
What we stripped out
Prices. Phone numbers we could not verify. Superlatives. Copied paragraphs from the archive. Anything that looked like a login, a component renderer, or a spam path.
The messy twin of this directory was /activities.html. That file 301s to things to do, which is the page a human should have been sent to all along.
Contribute a correction
If a public venue’s name is wrong, or if we have described a landscape poorly, contact the editor. If you want to write a reported piece that meets the standards on write for us, say that clearly. Do not send a rate sheet and call it journalism.
How the list groups, if you read it as a visitor
Water: BBQ boat hire, other boat hire, Ferryman-style cruises. These belong to Pumicestone Passage. They do not belong to Ocean Beach. Confirm any current operator; the slugs are not a dock.
Land sport: bowls clubs, golf clubs, the aquatic centre. These belong to the residential island. They are how a wet Sunday still works.
Culture: seaside museum, community arts centre, pier-view gallery, twin cinema. Check today’s doors. A closed cinema does not make the island empty.
Adrenaline names: gliding, skydiving, adventure tours. Treat them as the most unverified cluster. Aviation and tour products change ownership and drop zones. We will not pretend we called the airfield.
Landscape: Melsa Park, Woorim patrolled surf beach. The second of those is the one page in this directory that should send you straight to beaches.
Civic: Moreton Bay Regional Council, now City Council. Use it as a reminder of who manages streets versus who manages the recreation area.
Mainland: Sandstone Point Hotel. Cross the bridge in your head before you cross it in the car.
Why we did not 301 every child slug
The brief for this rebuild was to keep clean heritage paths on the same path with rewritten words. A 301 of every /activities/name to /things-to-do/ would have been tidier and less honest to twenty years of links. The compromise is this index plus short child pages that refuse to sell.
If a child page ever becomes a thin door, we would rather expand the caution than invent a booking. That is the opposite of the old directory, and it is the point.
A walking order if you insist on reading them all
Start with Woorim’s patrolled beach and the council page so you understand public versus commercial. Then read the water-hire names as a single passage lesson. Then the clubs and cinema as the residential island. Then the arts and museum names as culture. Leave gliding, skydiving and adventure tours until last, because they are the listings most likely to be gone and the most likely to be confused with a park activity they are not.
You will finish knowing more about how the old site thought visitors spent money, and less about what you should do tomorrow. That is useful. Tomorrow still starts at things to do, beaches, or 4WD beach.

/advertise now 301s to write for us. We do not sell a listing next to Woorim’s flags. If a business wants to be accurate on a heritage page, they can ask for a factual correction. They cannot buy a superlative.
